This essay will give an interpretation of the story “An Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge” by Ambrose Bierce. You will analyze a part of the story that stands out to you, showing some theme or underlying meaning in the story.
Students must use at least one source other than the story itself in this paper, and this research source may do any of the following:
*historically contextualize the story
*provide literary scholars’ interpretations / analysis of the story
*explore thematic, political, psychological, sociological, or cultural content inherent in the story
This essay must be at least 3 pages in length and use MLA formatting, including a Works Cited page with citations for the story itself and for the one required source.
